#100 Brownell Landrum on wishing our way to a resilient future
Celebrating 100 episodes of the Mind Full of Everything podcast!
“When you start working together and you start looking for solutions together, you realise you’re not the only one wishing for this. There are a lot of other people wishing. The more you do it together, the more you build a community and you can achieve it.”
We all dream, pray, manifest, hope and work for a better tomorrow, for ourselves and our communities - where do wishes come into catalysing transformative change? How can engaging in wish rituals within the collective bring the sciences and arts together to co-create a powerful roadmap towards a resilient future?
In the 100th episode of the show, we invite Brownell Landrum, a storyteller, TEDx speaker, inventor, and change catalyst with a passion for opening hearts and minds toward peaceful, positive, and purposeful progress. Brownell is the author of The Art & Science of Wishing book (as well as author to children’s books, fiction, nonfiction and screenplays), inventor, and songwriter, and explorer of metaphysical mysteries. Brownell is the executive producer of the Life is a Trip Reincarnation Stories Podcast and her most recent project is the Cosmic Wishes podcast, where science and the art of wishing come together to create a roadmap for change. In this conversation, we discuss the science behind the art of wishing and how, as a collective, we can strategically wish our way to a more just and equitable future.
What will be covered:
Wishes being scientifically more powerful from prayers and goals in that they incorporate both and invite creativity and playfulness in manifestation
Wishes bringing disciplines, sciences and cultures together
Stories often start with “what if” questions - wishes work similar, inviting more fluidity and trust in the process instead of just the result
Science behind wish rituals - training the brain to look for patterns and signals to lead you to manifesting the wish —> effects will be visceral/show up in the body
Shadows of wishing: pitfalls to wishing that is not peaceful, positive or purposeful
Addressing guilt/shame and not accepting things better than our wishes (no is not ending but information)
Re-learning art & experimentation of wishing from children/young people who navigate the world with knowing of the science behind wishing
Forming wish circles to build movement for change and solution-finding - check out Brownell’s free wish circle tracking tool below!
Implications of AI and technology on our capacities to wish and manifest e.g. becoming better writer instead of AI writing for you, addressing environmental impacts —> can only get benefits if AI follows a people-centric model instead of profit-centric
